I never excelled at anything but enjoyed woodshop and mechanical shop very much (Chambless/Patterson). Was too small to be good at sports.
Graduated from Turner Private School in 1950. Went into electronics parts business (Radio Sales & Service Co., Columbus). Went to work for Western Union as Operations Technician Apprentice in 1963, worked up to Computer Center Technician at Albany GA in 1966. Stayed at Albany until retirement October 14, 1988. Married Emily Barbara Whitley 1952, 3 children (Mike, Greg, Chris) Emily retired from USPS Sylvester, GA in 1994 and we moved to Rome, GA to be near two of the boys. After high school I attended Columbus VOTECH school taking electronics course, later passed FCC second class license test to qualify for the Computer Center Tech job. No military service. Presently enjoying retirement, woodworking, stained-glass, travel, etc. Emily is a 1952 Baker graduate. We were childhood sweethearts.
