Tom Barnes, Class of '56

About-Baker:

After-Baker:After Baker I entered GA TECH until 1959 when I joined the US Army. After 3 years in the Ordnance Corps as a Ground Guidance Supv. for the Lacrosse Guided Missile System (New Jersey,Alabama,Oklahoma and Asschafenberg,Germany)I returned to Orlando,FL where I was employed by the Martin Co.(aerospace company). Within 3 months I was on the road again....this time to South Korea as a Field Service engineer. In Dec. of 1962 I married Chun in Seoul,S.K. We returned to Orlando in June of '63 and started our family. We have 3 children,5 grand-children and 2 great-grand-children. I returned to college and graduated from Rollins College in 1970. After 35 years with the Martin Co. (which became Martin-Marietta then became Lockheed Martin Corp.) I retired. Little did I know in 1962 that working for LMC was like being in the military as we lived during the 35 years in North Dakota (2 yrs.), California (4 yrs.), South Korea (again for 2 yrs.) and Orlando (for 27 yrs.). Also, traveled to all parts of this world in my job as an aerospace engineer in international sales. After retireement we lived in Michigan with our oldest son/family for 5 yrs. We have just returned to our "home-base" in Orlando where the rest of our family resides.
