About-Baker: The people I met while attending 2-12 grades at Baker are still some of my dearest friends. I worked on the Lions Roar and was active in several Clubs, was on the rifle team one year (WHY?).I danced my way through school---music was very important to me, still is! I had a great time in high school, good teachers and good kids. The 50's was a great time to grow up. I have to say winning the basketball state champ.in 56 was a great thrill. the weekends to PC Beach was fun. Dancing at the hangout all night long with a blanket wrapped around us was a riot.
After-Baker: attended Middle Ga College for a year after graduation then headed off to Europe-going to U. of Maryland for a couple of years. Didn't marry until I was 29--had to wait for Mr. Right.Married Lee Smith in 69' have two great kids and now have a even greater grandson. Lee retired as a Colonel in 84 then went to work for Boeing , retiring from there in June of 99.We have always loved to travel and now find we have plenty of time to do just that. Last year we were in 12 countries and 11 states. Keep the road hot traveling to B'ham to our children. We live in a small town in southern Ala. and find the slow way of living very relaxing. So we should live to be 100!!!
