Joe Hicks, Class of '59



About-Baker: Played football, basketball and track. flirted a lot and missed a lot of great opportunities being impatient. Coach Ball was my favorite teacher,Pat Motley was the secret love of my life. I enjoyed the limelight of older brother Henry, will never forget the smell of the halls, the stinch of toughskin in the locker room. Norman Cobb lived with my family that year and we shared many memories just being boys.

After-Baker: I entered the army in Sept.1959, kissed Pat good-bye while on Christmas leave and spent the next two years in Karlsruhe, Germany. I returned home and married in 1963, had two beautiful children, was divorced in 1976, moved to Texas, met my wife in 1985, raised two adopted children and now have a beautiful, red haired, granddaughter. I am a Manager with Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse in Tukwila, Washington after moving all across the country twice. I collect the Dept.56 Dickens Village, Santa Clauses and Antique Glass Banks. I write poetry, short stories and after owning a manufacturing Co. making wood products for 18 Yrs.I enjoy woodworking.
