Earl Raymond Thomas, Class of '60

I remember the Basketball and football games and the sock hops. My first wife Patricia Harper (Thomas) class of 1961 attended and graduated from Baker as well. By the way, Pat is still my wife, married 35 years.

Following my graduation from Baker, I served 4 years in the Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and was Honorably Discharged in 1965. It was during that time I married my high school sweetheart Pat. Our daughter was born in May of 1965 just before my October discharge. After the Air Force I attended Collumbus Jr. College and then Auburn University on the G.I. Bill, Graduating from Auburn in Dec. 1968. Interestingly my Baker High history teacher taught me also at Auburn. From Auburn,I went to work for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as an adjuster. My son was born in September 1969.

After Liberty I worked for Continental Insurance and Mission Insurance in various capacities. Today I am Sr. Vice President of the Florida Hospitality Mutual Insurance Company, a workers' compensation carrier headquartered in Jacksonville, Fl.. Pat and I have one grand daughter, Megan Cothron age 9.

April, 1998
