I was an army brat like many at Baker. I moved to Georgia during Christmas break, and started school at Baker my junior year in January 1960. This is after going to two different schools during ninth grade in Maryland and the tenth grade and first one-half of the eleventh grade in Kansas. After graduating from Baker, I spent four years in the Air Force. I went to Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas after the Air Force, where I received both my undergraduate and law school degrees. I worked as a law clerk for the U.S. District Judge in Topeka, Kansas for a couple of years after law school. I then spent 27 years as an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service in Portland, Oregon. In 2000 the Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland had an opening for a clinical professor spot, so I retired from the Federal government and went to work at the law school where I have been since. I married a young lady from Ireland in 1965 who I met while stationed in England while in the service. We are still married and we have five children and seven grand children. It has been a great life.
