Mary Beth Joseph (Cordon), Class of '65

Mary Beth Joseph, 1965

About-Baker: During my Junior year at Baker I joined the Thespian Society. It was at the encouragement of Mrs. Remmert during speech class that I tried out for a role in "The Matchmaker". So, my most memorable moment was being on stage as Minnnie in that play!

After-Baker: I received a BS in Child Development from Iowa State University and began a very long teaching career. I first taught in Germany and married a handsome Army aviator. We went back to Ft. Benning and then he had another tour in VietNam. I lived in Texas with my retired parents and then we went to Florida and then Virginia. We have one son who was able to attend Kindergarten through 12th grade in the same school system in Texas! My husband flies for a helicopter company - Air Logistics and I have been teaching Kindergarten and First grad in Round Rock, Texas. I have a special education certification and an English as a Sevond Language certification. Our son graduated from Texas A&M - proudly built that Bonfire for 4 years - received his commission and went on active duty as Airborne, Ranger, and Infantry. He married an Aggie. I am a member of Alpha Chi Omega and Delta Kappa Gamma. I have been the grade level chairperson for our district, written cirriculm, created assessments and learning profiles, and supervised lots of student teachers. Mostly, I just try to motivate young learners!
