Marilyn "Mari" Carpenter (Martindell), Class of '66



After graduating from Baker in 1966 went to work in the Civil Service at Fort Benning. Married in 1968 to G. Jay Martindell, an Army Captain. Since then I have lived in Columbis, Georgia; El Paso, Texas; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Leavenworth, Kansas; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Acton, Massachusetts; Burke, Virginia and now I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I have four children and five grandchildren. My oldest daughter, Grace, graduated from William and Mary College in 1992, has four children of her own and is now working in DC for the Department of Labor. Lara, my second oldest, is married, has a son, and is living in Portsmouth, Virginia. My son, George, is working at finishing college at Old Dominion, and lives in Norfolk, Virginia. My youngest daughter, Geen, is attending Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and expects to graduate in December of 2002. I was divorced in 1996 and in 1998 when my youngest daughter graduated from high school, I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and began working for a brokerage firm. In September of 2000 I passed the Series 7 Exam and am a registered investment associate.
