Charles L. "Jack" Pritchard, Class of '68



About-Baker:English teacher Ruth Brady now a long-time friend; still looking for Ms Skinner.

After-Baker: Went to Mercer University on an ROTC Scholarship that led to a 28 year career in the Army. Both sons also attended Mercer on an ROTC Scholarship. Oldest is now a JAG MAJOR having served with the 3rd Infantry Division (was the first Army attorney into Iraq and first to reach Baghdad International Airport during the war). Youngest is an assistant Vice President for Wachovia Bank in Macon, GA. Spent 4 years at the White House as Director for Asian Affairs at the National Security Council. Retired in 2000 and became Special Assistant to the President. In 2001, joined the State Department as Special Envoy for Negotiations with the North Korea and US Representative to the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization. In November, 2001 confirmed by the Senate for the rank of Ambassador. Resigned at the end of August '03 and joined The Brookings Institution as a Visiting Fellow. On February 10, 2006, became President of the Korea Economic Institute of America (www.keia.org). Married to Jean Dowie (Columbus High School, 1969). Jean is a Vice President with the Boeing Company in the DC area. We have 2 grown, married children and 3 grandchildren.
