Progressed from enlisted ranks to the rank of sargeant, to finally retire as a Major in the U.S. Army. Was trained as a helicopter pilot (Cobra gunships and aeroscouts). Awarded Legion of Merit. Married Rebecca "Becky" Ann Chesser, Baker High School, also class of 1970. Have two sons (Sean currently a 1LT in the US Air Force and in Afghanistan & Paul who graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and is an Ensign undergoing flight training at the Pensacola Naval Air Station) Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), one of 300 in Alabama. Certified Hazardous Control Manager (CHCM). Currently the corporate director of human resources for HB&G Building Products, Inc. of Troy, AL. Collector of military antiques, restore military vehicles. Have a World War 2 field kitchen in a 1943 2 1/2 ton truck that I drive to historical events. Have a BS from Columbus College (1976) and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from Troy State University-Dothan (1994)
