I attended the 20th reunion which was held at the officer's club in Ft. Benning. I hope to attend the 35th in Columbus with my husband, Gary.
After high school, I went to Columbus College Nursing School but quit when I thought marrying my first husband would be the doorway to paradise. I have a wonderful 31 year old son, William Jason Manderson, and two beautiful and absolutely brilliant grandchildren. They reside in Phenix City, Al. I married my former Green Beret, Gary Stratford, in 1992 and we lived in Fortson, Ga. until 1999. He transferred with Lummus Corporation when the company moved to Savannah. Gary has been with Lummus for over 35 years as an Engineer and has recently become director of the purchasing department. In the eighties, I owned a craft business in Phenix City. I worked as the Business Manager of the Springer Opera House from 1985-90. It was a rewarding experience which led to a position with Swift Denim in 1990. Initially, I was the Executive Assistant to the Sr.V.P. of Finance and the Sr. V.P. of Operations. While at Swift, I pursued Accounting and Business degrees but an unexpected quadrupal bypass at the age of 40 put a halt to that. After recovering from a heart attack and surgery, I returned to Swift as the Education/Computer Lab Coordinator. I worked at Swift until I retired in July 1997 due to health problems.
My husband, Gary, and I built a home on the Jericho River in Richmond Hill, just on the outskirts of Savannah. We enjoy all that the beautiful town of Savannah has to offer but we like to retreat to our own quiet 'burb and get away from the many tourists. We love boating out to the barrier islands along the Georgia coastline and making mini-trips on the weekends to towns along the southeast coast. I also love gardening, crafts and genealogy. I am currently negotiating with a publisher on a book I have written about my heart disease and surgeries. I hope to have it in circulation by Christmas.
Warmest thoughts to all my old friends and classmates.

After quadrupal bypass
surgery, thyroid
radiation, and 15
prescriptions a day, I
grew some wacky
ears.....and gained
some pounds. At least
my hearing hasn't gone.
