I really didn't do much out of the ordinary at Baker. We had just moved from Fort Monroe (Hampton), VA in Nov 1970. I finished the 11th grade, then completed my Senior year and graduated from Baker in June 1972. I immediately went into the Air Force in Jun of 1972.
I was a member of the National Honor Society and really enjoyed my studies most of all. In my Senior year I took DCT and worked for Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) at the Main Service Station on Ft Benning on the Main Post before the current Fort Benning Mall was built near Martin Army Community Hospital.
My most memorable moments, while not enjoyable, were the burning down of the auditorium and riots during my Senior year! While, at that time, I was somewhat in awe, today, I look back at that day with tremendous pain. That pain has more to do with "Man's Inhumanity to Man", more than anything else. What a disgrace to us as a people, but more importantly, the will of Our Heavenly Father!
After leaving Baker, I spent 26 years in the Air Force and retired in May 1998 at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, GA. My first permanent assignment following Basic Training at Lackland AFB (San Antonio), Texas was at Moody AFB, in Valdosta, GA in Oct 1972. I am still employed at Robins AFB today. Following my retirement, I went to work for an Engineering Consulting Firm here in Warner Robins as a Senior Systems Analyst and now a Senior Financial Analyst. We've been here in Warner Robins since April of 1996. I have a BS in Human Resources, with a major in Management, from Park University in Parkville, MO.
I'm single parent with four daughters and one son: Crystal 26; married with four (4) children, Jessica 25; 2003 Highest Honors Graduate as a Civil Engineer from the Georgia Insitute of Technology. Go Yellow Jackets! She is currently the Transportation Planner for the City of Warner Robins. Courtney 20 is a 2002 Graduate from Warner Robins High School and currently employed by Houston County Schools. Matter of fact, Crystal and Jessica were graduates of Warner Robins High as well; 1998. Go Demons! Zackery 11; 6th Grade lives with his mom in Nevada and Kaitlyn 9; 4th Grade lives with yours truly!
I'm an avid runner and enjoy the road racing circuit whenever I can get out there.
