After-Baker: I spent the first two years after graduation attending Georgia Southwestern College and the University of Georgia. I joined the Army in November 1976 as an Air Traffic Controller. In 1980, I left the Army and completed a degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In 1981, I entered the Air Force as an Officer and flew F-16 Fighters until retiring in 1997. I am now a Captain for Southwest Airlines. My son Nick (26) is also a Fighter Pilot flying A-10s.
