Miss Faye Hicks (Doane), Faculty

About Baker: I taught some business education classes and mathematics. I was a Jr. Civitan sponsor, cheerleader sponsor, and avid Baker Lions supporter. My most memorable moment was the time two boys in my class asked me if I would wear a dress for Sadie Hawkins Day if they made it for me. Thinking they would never do it, I said, "Yes". They made it! I wore it! It was a lovely burlap design with a matchiing purse. I prayed all the way to school that I would not have to stop for anything!

After Baker: Baker was my first full-time teaching assignment and I couldn't have picked a better place to begin. After leaving Baker in 1970, I taught at Brunswick High School and Northside High in Warner Robins. In 1980, I became the Mathematics Coordinator for Houston County Schools. I retired from that position in 1996. I have a M.Ed. and Ed.S. in Mathematics Education and Cirriculum and Supervision. I am married to Bob Doane. We have a son named Jeremiah. I enjoy being with my family and I volunteer at Perry High School as a mathematics tutor.
