Dr. Yielding writes: The first year I taught at Baker was the school year 1958-59. I was there five years, was at Yale University as a John Hay Fellow the school year 1963-64 and back at Baker for the 6th year-1964-65. I taught government, United States History and American Studies, my last year at Baker being the school year 1964-65.
For seven years I worked at Auburn University in the Department of Secondary Education.
In 1972 I returned to Muscogee County School District where I spent one year as Social Studies Consultant K-12, 12 years as Director of Secondary Education and 4 years as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. I retired in 1989 and live in the Beulah community of Lee County, Alabama.
Retirement is still good. I enjoy spending time in my woodworking shop and in gardening and in my greenhouse. It is not difficult to find activity to fill time. Sometimes I wonder how I ever found time to work before retirement. Of course, I still read a great deal and enjoy keeping up with what is going on in the world.
